What an inspirational day as both OPTIONS Outpatient and DMS Diversified Monitoring Program showed our support for the Crime Survivors 5K Run/Walk – Health and Safety Expo taking place at Mason Regional Park in Irvine. Crime Survivors is an organization founded by Patricia Wenskanus, a crime survivor herself. Their mission is to provide hope and healing to victims and survivors of crime through advocacy and the support of resources from the time immediately following the crime through the challenges and successes of surviving and thriving.
Speaking at the event were members from local law enforcement, local government, the District Attorney Todd Spitzer, Patricia and most importantly the victims and relatives of victims who shared their personal and very emotional stories of their journey through pain to recovery with the help of Crime Survivors.
Many volunteers, supporters, crime victims and sponsors showed their support by participating in the 5k Run/Walk. Our own OPTIONS team member Allen Martinez came in second in his age group, go Allen! During the course of the event we were able to meet with many other incredible sponsors and organizations dedicated to helping victims. It was a memorable event and we are proud to be a part of the community who supports this very worthy cause.
