This year’s Memorial Day celebration will undoubtedly look a little different than it has in the past. As states begin to ease lockdown restrictions, more and more people are venturing out. Regardless of whether you are celebrating at home, or going to a social distancing BBQ, you can still enjoy the holiday without the booze.

According to the National Safety Council, an estimated “366 people may on U.S. roads this Memorial Day holiday period.” Alcohol plays a significant role in numerous traffic-related fatalities. Research conducted by the Council shows that “During the 2018 Memorial Day period, 37% of fatalities involved an alcohol-impaired driver.”

Choosing to remain sober on Memorial Day can save your life and others. There are a number of ways to enjoy the holiday weekend without driving including:

  • Celebrating with other people in sobriety
  • Enjoying a Movie marathon
  • Playing non-drinking games
  • Taking a scenic drive
